Hi Hillcrest Members,
Hurricane season is coming. This is a great opportunity for us to get valuable training, meet other Baptists from our area, and prepare ourselves to respond to the next natural disaster. Bring everyone in your Connect Group (male and female, age 15+) and join us.
First Time Volunteers
Registration Fee $35 per person
First Time Volunteers will participate in a New Volunteer Class designed to prepare you to respond effectively as part of a team. After lunch, you will choose one Ministry Area Class in which to get specialized training. Specialized training areas include: Mass Feeding, Cleanup & Recovery, Administration, Emergency Response Team, Logistics, and Spiritual Care.
Cost includes: lunch, training materials, ID badge, t-shirt, hat and pin. These items will be mailed to you after we have received your background check clearance. The cost for mandatory background check (see below) is additional.
Registration Fee $20 per person
Returning Volunteers have several options: During the morning, you may choose to get additional training in your primary ministry area in a specialized class. After lunch, you may choose to attend another ministry area class to receive training in another specialty thus expanding your ability to minister. Price includes: lunch and training materials.
Hillcrest will provide HBC members, who are returning volunteers, with a free, new yellow t-shirt if you register with Rita Malone (church office 476-2233) your name and size in advance of the training!
If your badge has expired, you will need to attend the New Volunteer Class in order to get a new badge. Badges expire every 3 years. Background checks (see reverse side) will be required when badges are renewed.
To complete your background check on-line, please go to the Florida Baptist Convention’s website – “Protect My Ministry” : https://www.ministryopportunities.org/Application.aspx?oid=27374 and complete the form. The cost is $16.
If you are a Hillcrest member and a high school student (age 15+) or college student, our HBC Disaster Relief Team will provide you with a DR training scholarship that will reimburse you for the entire cost of your registration fee and background check!
