Breakout Sessions

The Heart of a Woman and the Sufficiency of Scripture
Nadine Kimsal

A woman’s heart can be complicated. Our emotions can run deep, and our thoughts can be consuming. We have many responsibilities that can weigh heavy on our hearts. At times we find ourselves battling anxiety, fear, and worry. Does the Bible speak to those issues? Does God’s Word tell us how to handle the stressors of this life? In this breakout session we will see what God says about the sufficiency of Scripture and how to overcome the anxieties of a woman’s heart.

Decision Making and the Will of God
Vicky Bell

We spend our lives making decisions and living with the consequences of the decisions we have made. As Christians, we know that God is involved in our decision making, but how?  Do the Scriptures teach that we are to “put out a fleece,” seek a “sign of confirmation,” or wait for a “peace about it?”  What about hearing the “voice” of God, or waiting to “feel led by the Spirit?”  This session will explore various conventional “methods” used today for discerning “God’s will,” and offer an alternative model for making God-honoring decisions based on clear and sound Scriptural teaching.

Journaling with a Twist in ACTS Way
Andrea Gallagher

As women we have so much that we are responsible for as we multi-task our way through each day. We are so busy that we forget our most important connection with our Creator, Sustainer, and Friend. This session is going to take you on a journey not only to craft & design a personalized journal matching your personality type, creativity and personal time constraints, but it will help you expect, engage and encounter God more regularly. Let’s take this faith walk together as we let the Holy Spirit guide you in journaling.

Written on My Heart
Kate Hollimon

If you’ve ever struggled with memorizing scripture or been confused about how to meditate on scripture, this workshop will walk you through effective techniques to memorize and meditate on God’s Word.  Through hands-on, interactive methods, you will learn how to dig deeper into scriptures that speak to how we can guard and protect our hearts in a world of sin and brokenness.

Idols of a Woman’s Heart
Amy Simmons

Why should we be concerned about the idols in our heart? Because idols not dealt with have serious spiritual ramifications on our life.   We are all hard wired to worship, it’s just a matter of what we worship.   We are meant to live for God, so when idolatry is what we are living for we are living on substitutes that will ultimately leave us heartbroken, disappointed, angry and demanding far more from the people around us than they can ever give.   The tricky thing about idolatry is not just wanting bad things, we can even desire good things too much.  In this breakout we will look at why we do the things we do, why we sin the way we sin and why it’s so hard to stop. We will look at how to identify our idols and what to do with them once we know what they are.

Attributes of God
Kathy Green

As a follower of Christ, our greatest desire should be to know God. Not just know about Him, but we must know Him personally. In this breakout session we will study His character revealed through Scripture, we will gain a better understanding of what God is like, and what we are to be like as His children. All of this will result in giving Him praise through a time of prayer.

Trials, Tribulations and Suffering
Mica Apple

What comes to your mind when you hear these words, “trials tribulations and suffering?” Is it joy or rejoicing? Probably not. But yet that’s exactly what Scripture tells us we can and should have when we are going through the difficult times in our lives. In this breakout, we are going to look at how powerful our perception is on this subject and how it shapes our responses when life falls apart. We will be looking at what the Bible tells us about suffering and the value of its purposes, how we apply that to real life experiences and how to minister to others in their time of crisis.

How Christ Changes Us by His Grace
Cathy Perry

If you’ve ever tried, failed, and wondered why, you need to attend this breakout! We’ll look at the biblical pattern for change in a clear, practical way you can apply to the challenges of daily life. But change involves more than a biblical formula: You will see how God is at work to make you the person you were created to be. That powerful, loving, redemptive relationship is at the heart of all positive change you experience.

Who Stole My Identity? Knowing and Keeping My Identity in Christ
Pam Frank

In this session, we will examine the five fingerprints of one’s identity in Christ and how they can be misplaced, forgotten, and/or stolen by what people, the world, circumstances, and Satan say about us. Learn how to combat SADD (Spiritual Attention Deficit Disorder). If we stand and walk in who Christ Jesus says we are, restoration of our identities is assured by our Father.
